Community Support

At the end of 2024, a majority of 2,500 non-tenure-track faculty signed cards to form a union and filed a petition with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) for an election. In response, USC tried to block our right to a vote and, in the process, joined companies like SpaceX and Amazon in arguing that the NLRB — the body that protects private sector workers’ right to organize — is unconstitutional.

This isn’t just an attack on faculty — it’s an attack on all workers. Roughly 4,000 graduate student worker, postdoc, and SCA adjuncts who’ve unionized with UAW in the last 2 years, in addition to USC alumni, elected officials, and more are calling on the administration to respect faculty’s right to vote.

Graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, Cinema adjuncts, and United Faculty have come together as one unified voice to urge the administration to do the right thing and respect the NLRB decision.
