We are excited to announce that dates for our union election have been scheduled! Originally, we had requested a hybrid option so that as many faculty as possible could vote. We are glad to report that, after we and USC agreed on an election format that would allow maximum participation, the regional NLRB has now determined that the election will be by mail balloting.

Please take note of these important dates:

  • Ballots will be sent out by the NLRB on Friday, April 24th
  • Deadline to request a ballot if not received is Wednesday, May 6th
  • Ballots are due (must be received by the NLRB) by Friday, May 15th
  • Ballots will be counted at the regional NLRB office on Monday, May 18th
  • *** Please make sure your address is up to date on Workday as soon as possible so that you receive your ballot at the correct address

RSVP here for our next UF-UAW Town Hall this Thursday at NOON

After thousands of conversations among non-tenure track faculty across USC over the last two years, we will now have the opportunity to vote for United Faculty-UAW as our union. This election provides a historic opportunity to vote for a stronger faculty voice at USC. If a majority of us vote yes, the USC administration would have a legal obligation to engage in good-faith collective bargaining with us.

Please join our next UF-UAW town hall this Thursday at Noon on Zoom. It is important that we do the work to make an informed decision on this important question.

As a reminder, per the regional NLRB decision, faculty eligible to vote are those in the unit who are listed below and were employed during the payroll period ending February 28, 2026, including employees who did not work during that period because they were ill, on vacation, or temporarily laid off. If you have questions about your specific eligibility, please send us an email at info@unitedfaculty-uaw.org

  • Included: All full-time, part-time and/or adjunct Research-track, Teaching-track, Practitioner track, and/or Clinical-track faculty (collectively referred to as “RTPC Faculty” and/or “Non- Tenure Track Faculty”) employed by the University of Southern California in Los Angeles County.
  • Excluded: All tenured or tenure-track faculty; all faculty in the Keck School of Medicine; all faculty employed at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles; all part-time and/or adjunct faculty in the USC School of Cinematic Arts; all visiting faculty; all emeritus faculty; all RTPC faculty permanently employed outside Los Angeles County; all non-faculty employees; and all managers, guards, and supervisors as defined in the Act, as amended.
We will be sharing more information in the weeks leading up to the election so that we can all make an informed decision on how to vote. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@unitedfaculty-uaw.org or check out our election information page.

Best,

UF-UAW Organizing Committee
