Voting has been extended in our historic union election! Ballots must now be received by the NLRB by Monday, June 1st, at 5:00 PM. For those still considering how to vote, check out this short video from faculty across schools and titles at USC about why we’re voting Yes:
Over the past few years, the USC administration has unilaterally increased our healthcare costs, reduced tuition assistance benefits, increased our workloads, and, despite our advocacy, has not addressed widespread concerns about the skyrocketing cost of living. With a union, we can gain a stronger faculty voice for a say in these decisions.
By coming together across titles and disciplines, we have the power to make improvements we can’t make alone. And we know that comparably diverse groups of faculty at other universities have won strong agreements which benefit everyone, preserve the right to participate in shared governance, and smartly accommodate different needs. Based on these successful examples, we know that a faculty union can advance all of our priorities here at USC, too – and that’s why we’re voting yes.
