We’re excited to share a new op-ed in the Morning, Trojan about how “a faculty union can advance all of our priorities.” Written by faculty colleagues on our organizing committee, it includes useful information about the administration’s ongoing campaign against unionization and a reiteration of why faculty across 22 schools, the libraries, and every title are voting yes for a stronger voice.

Full-time, part-time, and adjunct faculty across USC are voting Yes
Our size and our diversity are strengths. By coming together across titles and disciplines, we have the power to make the improvements we can’t make alone. Empirical evidence shows that comparably diverse groups of faculty have successfully won contracts with huge improvements for everyone that also smartly accommodate different needs by school and department.
Voting yes means a historic opportunity to claim a real voice for ourselves at the bargaining table. We are excited to take it.
Important note:
If you have not yet received a ballot, please call the regional NLRB at (310) 235-7351 ASAP to make sure you receive your ballot in time and can vote. When you call, make sure to leave your full name, where you work (USC), and leave a callback number.
Happy Friday!
Sincerely,
The United Faculty-UAW Organizing Committee
