Because only one (1) candidate accepted nomination for the one (1) open position in Jurisdictions 5 and 6, respectively, those candidates are considered elected by acclamation.
Because the remaining number of candidates [seventeen (17)] exceeds the total number of remaining open positions for the Bargaining Committee [thirteen (13)], a secret ballot vote will be held electronically from 8 AM on Tuesday, October 13th, 2026 until midnight on Wednesday, October 14th, 2026 using ElectionBuddy.
See the How to Vote section below for more details on how to vote for the thirteen (13) remaining — five (5) jurisdictional and eight (8) at-large — contested positions.
Vote Method
ElectionBuddy is an electronic platform that guarantees the secrecy of ballots and ensures that no one can vote more than once.
ElectionBuddy will send you an email with a unique link to your online ballot once voting has opened on October 13th. If you cannot locate the email from ElectionBuddy with the ballot, including in your spam, junk, and promotions folders, email us at elections@unitedfaculty-uaw.
How to Vote
You should receive an email from ElectionBuddy with your ballot at 8 AM on Tuesday, October 13th or soon after you sign an authorization card if the vote has already begun. Please check your spam, junk, and promotions folders, and if you cannot locate your ballot, email us at elections@unitedfaculty-uaw.
Each voter will be able to vote for the number of candidates equal to the number of contested positions – in this case, thirteen (13) because two (2) candidates were already elected by acclamation for their jurisdiction.
The top vote getter from each of the jurisdictional positions will be elected to that respective position. The remaining eight (8) top vote getters will fill the eight (8) at-large positions. The election will be via electronic voting. More detailed instructions, including a sample ballot, will be provided later this week ahead of the start of voting on Tuesday.
Voter Eligibility
Those eligible to vote in the election are all RTPC/non-tenure-track and librarian full-time, part-time, and adjunct faculty who:
-
are currently employed in a bargaining unit title or worked in a bargaining unit title in the last academic year and have a reasonable expectation of reappointment
-
have signed a union authorization card (if you haven’t yet signed a card, you can do so here)
