Nominations for the UF-UAW Bargaining Committee closed on Monday, October 5th, and statements from eligible faculty were posted for review on Tuesday, October 6th. Candidate statements are up for review here.
Because the number of candidates exceeds the total number of remaining open positions for the Bargaining Committee, a secret ballot vote will be held electronically from 8 AM on Tuesday, October 13th, 2026 until 11:59 PM on Wednesday, October 14th, 2026, using ElectionBuddy.
This election will be administered by the Elections Committee Chair for UAW Local 872, the union of Graduate Student Workers at USC, to ensure a fair and efficient process.
Voting instructions and sample ballot
You should receive an email from ElectionBuddy with your ballot at 8 AM on Tuesday, October 13th or soon after you sign an authorization card if the vote has already begun. Please check your spam, junk, and promotions folders.
A ballot request form will be available at the start of voting for those faculty who do not receive a ballot. Ballot requests must be received by Wednesday, October 14th at 6 PM in order to receive a replacement ballot before the end of the vote. If you cannot locate your ballot, email elections@unitedfaculty-uaw.
Because only one (1) candidate accepted nomination for the one (1) open position in Jurisdictions 5 and 6, respectively, those candidates are considered elected by acclamation.
Each voter will be able to vote for the number of candidates equal to the number of contested positions – in this case, thirteen (13) because two (2) candidates were already elected by acclamation for their jurisdiction.
The top vote getter from each of the jurisdictional positions will be elected to that respective position. The remaining eight (8) top vote getters will fill the eight (8) at-large positions, regardless of jurisdiction. Eligible voters can vote for up to thirteen (13) candidates.
You may view a sample ballot here on the UF-UAW website.
Electioneering Guidelines
